What we collect
From enquiries: name, email, organisation, the review you selected, and the message you write. From engagements: the business contact details of the people named in the scoped note, and the operational files you send (which should not include unnecessary personal data). From the website: the cookie choice stored in your browser as described in the cookie notice.
Why we use it
To reply to enquiries, to perform a contract for a review or briefing, to keep records required for tax and professional accountability, and — if you accept optional cookies — to understand which pages are read. Lawful bases are contract, legitimate interests in running a small practice, legal obligation, and consent for optional cookies.
Retention
Enquiry messages that do not become engagements are kept for eighteen months. Engagement files and invoices are kept for seven years after the engagement ends, in line with ordinary UK tax record-keeping. Ledger extracts are deleted according to the schedule in the engagement letter, typically within ninety days of the final pack, unless you ask us in writing to hold them for a follow-on quarter.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Rights are not absolute; we will explain if an exemption applies.
International transfers
We store working files in the United Kingdom where practicable. If a processor stores data outside the UK, we will use a transfer mechanism recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or standard contractual clauses with a UK addendum.
Sharing
We do not sell contact lists. We share data with professional advisers (accountant, solicitor) where needed, with IT hosts who store email, and with authorities if required by law.
